Hi! I’m Tash.

I’m a UK-based playwright and scriptwriter. I’m part of the Royal Court’s Invitation Group 2023-24 and have been twice longlisted and once shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Playwriting.

I began my writing career after winning a place on the National Youth Theatre/Shine TV Drama playwright development programme, ‘Write to Shine’, co-authoring a play for the NYT Rep Company at the Old Vic Tunnels. I was subsequently commissioned to develop a full-length play for the National Youth Theatre’s ‘Playing Up’ initiative. The resulting play, MOONFRUIT, was produced at the Unicorn Theatre. I’ve continued my work with young people ever since, and in 2022 I was a writer and facilitator on the Royal Court’s SW1 Project.

My 2020 play WHEN THE SEA SWALLOWS US WHOLE was produced at the VAULT Festival and shortlisted for the VAULT Origins Award. I’ve been part of Chichester Festival Theatre’s Young Playwrights collective and twice won the Gold Award for Best Scripted Programming at the BBC Radio 1 Student Radio Awards

My work has been brought to life in venues across London and Edinburgh including Royal Court, Rich Mix, Rose Theatre, Chiswick Playhouse, Tristan Bates Studio and Old Red Lion Theatre and my writing has been praised as “off-kilter, brilliant and brave” (BBC Student Radio Awards) with “female characters who really zing” (What’s On Stage) from “a writer who knows how to turn a vivid phrase” (Lyn Gardner). By day, I work at Penguin Books.
